New Years Traditions

What kind of New Years traditions are out there?
People from Denmark jump off chairs at the strike of midnight, others blow on kazoo's and shoot fireworks....And some just sleep right through new years eve.

A very fascinating tradition is the Christmas  tree burning. On New Years eve they stand the tree upright on the beach pour on the gasoline and watch it shoot a 8 ft flame into the sky ( depending on the height of the tree).
And then there's the nuts in Alaska and back east.... they sit in a hot spa for an hour and then jump into a hole in the ice! I don't know how that works but I'm guessing the cold water shock keeps them from feeling anything... or many they had some kind of vodka stash next to that spa of theirs! If your fascinated with this idea you should enter into you tube "Moose Riding" it should come up. Somewhere back in Finland or Sweden a man manages to get drunk and decides " I'm going to ride that swimming moose out on the freezing lake!" So they get two boats out and a guy with only his trunks on manages to leap onto the moose and get an ice cold ride!
For New years in salt lake city they probably don't go carousing around... considering that their mostly Mormon and drink root beer ( no offense please!). Apparently whenever a bar opens in that city, the Mormons manage to close it down, and another bar takes it place and they close that one down too! But I have no problem with that, it probably sorts through the people coming into town. Hey man I like root beer!

Others go out of the "no shooting zone" and shoot pumpkins and all sorts of interesting targets.

One thing everyone can agree on about the Holidays, is that the cops are viciously on patrol pulling people over left and right.... and it's no fun seeing other people or yourself getting pulled over by a over suspecting highway patrol officer.
One of the worst cop city's on the Holidays is driving from Santa Cruz to San Francisco. Cops are shooting their little lights on everywhere... Its awful, people just want to live their lives and their aren't that many dangerous drivers as the highwaymen make out.
But, back to New years I hope 2012 goes good for everyone! And believe me a few things might change, but I personally think we still have a ways to go for the end of the world. I think this year definitely is a milestone for the world and I'm sure the banker like schemers intend to execute their plans...
Aside from that I think we've had very nice weather in Santa Cruz!
   Happy New year!
     Cheers all around!
           :)
