Improvoso Writing Contest!

              Hello Everyone!
Today I decided to pick up that forgotten moth eaten rug of improv story writing, and give it a better go. My first post on that didn't go so well, and I have greater expectations!
Instead, the improvisation will be a beginner paragraph... don't have to finish a story or even write one! Just simply put together a paragraph of intrigue and suspense.
I will be more vague, and hopefully my thought will form a lot better around the idea... AND NO TIME LIMIT! If you want good writing, you want time.
The general line : Midnight, somewhere on earth ( you pick) , and some form of unimaginable danger awaiting.
You noticed that I put "writing contest" in the title bar.
Here is where that comes into play! If any of you likes writing, I would LOOOOVE reading anyone's improv story writing! If you are uncomfortable with the general line, then pick your own! :)  You can put it as a comment, or a link!
Okay, so I also stated CONTEST.
Whoever actually writes an improvising paragraph, can pick the next topic for me to write about!( within reason... it might be a little tricky writing about how an engine actually uses gas, or explaining the Pythagorean theorem!) I know its not much of a reward... but I would love any kind of feedback!
     Mucho improvoso... here I come!

The stars were blanketed by a wispy vale of foreboding smoke. Even the moon, full and at it's zenith was smudged brown. Lengthy shadows were like pen streaks on the white paper of the dunes. The ocean roared a few yards away chewing at the shoreline, and a vessel nudged her anchor rode a few miles offshore. But even these spectacular midnight sights were not perceived by the young man striding purposefully across the sands. He did not heed that he traveled across the highest part of the mounds and impeded his speed. He did not seem to care, for all you could see was the glint of determination in his eyes as his cloak was tossed by the wind. A dark shadow in stark contrast to  the shades of the dunes loomed diagonally.. ever closer to the human. The beast behind the shadow was unimaginably huge, yet unseen, blending with the color of the sands... all except his silhouette, the means by which this man if he had looked could have perceived his stalker. The man was only concerned with the wafting trail of smoke, the sign of sinister destruction.

      Alrighty everyone!
