Hydrolysis Reaction

I know that many believe that the majority of the atmosphere's oxygen comes from plants. I do not deny that plants make oxygen, but I do question whether they make enough to keep the world alive.
I want to make a very blazing point across the page! Plants making enough oxygen for the whole world is just ONE of MANY THEORIES!!!! It's not a proven fact...
The only thing proven is that plants make oxygen... but in turn they also use oxygen.
I am going to quickly analyze how plants make oxygen.

Plants are able to synthesize food directly from carbon dioxide, water, and using energy from light. In certain plants (algae and cyanobacteria) photosynthesis releases oxygen.

This is called oxygenic photosynthesis.

There is only one problem.... Plants create equal amounts of oxygen and co2!! But if we look at the percentage of co2 and oxygen in the atmosphere, there is actually less co2 then there is oxygen!!! That means that plants cannot produce the right quantity for the amount in the atmosphere.
There is another way to make oxygen, that does not effect the amount of co2 in any way!
When electricity is put through water, Oxygen bubbles come out near one wire, and hydrogen bubbles come out the other wire. The "Hydrolysis Reaction" splits water into hydrogen and oxygen... that's all its doing! Just splitting water! Hydrolysis makes the ratio of 2 hydrogen molecules to every oxygen molecule. Saltwater is the best liquid for carrying electricity, and out in the equator lightning bolts are hitting almost constantly in different parts! Just imagine how much oxygen is made by just one lightning strike!!!
Certainly some food for thought, that maybe the media is just spreading a bunch of propaganda!!
If plants really make a ton of oxygen, why do astronauts use electricity to create a hydrolysis reaction instead of bringing plants into space???

It can be particularly hard to think outside the box... just type in "do plants make enough oxygen the earth?" and just about every website is "yes... yes...yes".
Here is some ACTUAL food for thought! If you take all the amount of plant material you have eaten in a year, the amount of oxygen used to make that is three times the amount of material!!!
I leave you to ponder... in the meantime I will try to finish some posts I've been hard at work on!
   Cheerio!
